MANUKAU FOR JESUS
On Wednesday 6th February I took over as pastor of the Manukau Potter's House Church after a service conducted by Pastor Rob Walsh followed by the laying on of hands and the signing of the pastoral covenant. There was a higher than normal attendance and great atmosphere of faith and relief.
Evangelist Rod Gibson was due to start revival that weekend and due to unforeseen circumstances no advertising had been done or evangelism towards it! However the congregation were in the middle of a week of praying and fasting to get clarity and a Pastor.
Within moments the church rallied and a concert and revival flyer was designed and the plough was back in the soil immediately.
Friday night saw the church outreach in the streets with help from the Papakura church and 21 souls prayed a sinners prayer! On Saturday morning we went in to the Otara street markets and pulled another impromptu street concert with 12 more souls saved. That night Evangelist Gibson and our church band were ablaze in an awesome concert which saw 85 people attend and 7 more souls added to the kingdom.
For the Sunday morning and night services the attendances were healthy and people buoyant, the anointing and miracle power of God tangible with many healings and words of knowledge given. Four more saved.
Monday night saw a great unity prevail with several local area churches attending and plenty of first time visitors coming out. We had 195 people attend with 9 saved, followed by a Tuesday night service of 146 and 3 praying a sinners prayer. That’s impressive.
Bonds were broken, friendships strengthened and everyone revived! Several long term backsliders came back and repented.
On the last Wednesday night Evangelist Gibson really put his back into it one more time. We had 87 turn up to service with 6 more answering the altar call! Another higher than normal attendance.
Evangelist Rod Gibson was unwavering and endorsing of what God wants to do here - save souls and lock them into the kingdom. He was helpful in speaking faith into the assembly and gave all of us some much needed help at a very testing time.
